    Genre Purpose, Target Audience, Distribution 

  The purpose of a magazine is one of the greatest determining factors that influences its contents. Content is the information that magazines provide to their audience.

    - Whether the purpose of the magazine is to entertain, persuade, or inform is what determines the information that will be presented to the argument.

    •  ex: a magazine with the purpose of informing the audience on current news while provide information on what is going on in the world today.       

    The target audience of a magazine also influences its content. Audience is composed of  several factors including age, interests, etc.

The purpose of my magazine will be to inform the public on current news and accomplishments within the black music industry today. Therefore, the content of my magazine will provide relevant information regarding this topic. In addition, my target will include those who share an interest in music and African American culture

Preliminary Task

 For my first preliminary assignment,  I will be using the  "Canva" platform to construct a practice cover page. Through this task, I plan to: Practice my editing skills Use an eye-catching color scheme that fits the content Focus on bold fonts and lettering, similar to those in other music magazines  Select photos and a page set up that will allow me to display my information in an efficient yet stylish way  Become more comfortable working the 'Canva' platform so I can utilize its tools to the best of my ability for the remainder of this project. To begin with, I first had to familiarize myself with the website blogspot.com. It was important that I learned all the ins-and-outs and became comfortable with it, as this website is what I used to document the whole process of my project. I also initially used my iPhone camera throughout my first few blog posts when exploring camera angles, shots, techniques, etc. Overtime, I eventually upgraded to a more professional camera, my Canon Powershot SX540. I obtained this camera not too long after beginning this process, and familiarize myself within in order to use it to my advantage.
