Analyzing House Style Reflection

Image
Analyzing House Style Reflection          As part of the process,   I recently began researching magazine house styles in order to plan and decide which house style will make the best fit for my magazine. My magazine is going to be centered around the music in African American culture. This is a relevant and constantly evolving topic, therefore it is important that I choose the house style that will best allow me to express this information to my audience. The process initially started with me conducting research on magazines within the same genre that I planned to research and analyzing the format and outlines they followed. I took note of the techniques I saw and put them all into consideration when deciding on the house style my magazine would follow.     This process was rather challenging as it required me to perform extensive research on a topic I had no prior knowledge on. However, it was very eye opening and informative.

His goal was to publish a magazine that would attend to the interests of the public. The first American magazine made its debut in 1741. Initially, only the wealthy could afford early prints. As the 1830s approached, cheaper magazines began to make their debut, focusing on entertainment. As a result of cheaper production costs, publishers were able produce more magazines and reach a wider audience. As magazines grew more popular, they grew in variety as well. Magazines were used not only for entertainment but also women, literary, science, sports, etc.

A Bit About Me

Hi! My name is Lauryn. I am a high school senior taking this class in hopes of expanding my knowledge on the several components of media through the creation of my own media platform, as it plays a large role in the daily lives of many.  I am an adventurous individual who enjoys taking on all sorts of new adventures and hobbies. However, outside of school, I spend majority of my time spending time with family and friends, participating in sports, or relaxing by myself with the company of Netflix and food. In the near future, I plan to attend college in order to pursue my career interests in the surgical field. Alongside that, I have dreams to work hand in hand with shelters, organizations, and charities to bring help and medical care to those in need. Reflection on Syllabus

While constructing this portfolio, my prior experience and knowledge with the use of media and creating content may be a great help towards accomplishing the desired tasks. I am most looking forward the opportunity to test my creativity, gain knowledge on a new subject, and acquire new skills that I can use in and outside of this course. On the other hand, there are a few components of this project that make me nervous. These include, this format of test that I have never been exposed to. In addition, I am a bit anxious about the work load and my ability to complete everything asked within a timely manner. However, with proper time management I can manage. All in all, through this course I  hope to expand on my creativity skills and my knowledge on the many uses  of media.
